We’re an education company in Germany offering 12-week programs in Data Science and Full Stack Web Development.
Please refer to our About Us section to learn more!
We have locations in Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne. For more information about our campuses, check out the corresponding programs page.
Our courses are project-based and focused on equipping you with the skills and tools you’ll need in the real world as a data scientist or web developer. On top of that, our careers services give you a tailored, dedicated program that prepares you personally and professionally for what’s ahead.
Each course consists of approx. 50 to 80 hours of online prep work and an assessment on your own followed by a 12-week program on-site. Additionally, there is a 6-week self-study period that follows after graduation.
Our CTO / Head Coach is David Friedman. David is a web developer with over 20 years of experience at some of the leading technology companies in San Francisco and New York. Our Lead Instructor of Data Science is Dr. Kristian Rother. Kristian earned his PhD at the Humboldt Universität Berlin and has worked six years as a professional trainer and delivered courses throughout Europe.
In our Full Stack Web Development Program we focus on JavaScript. For our Data Science Program, we focus on Python. Please visit the respective program pages (Full Stack or Data Science) to learn more.
While there are no specific requirements for our courses, a willingness to learn and a lot of motivation will go a long way to ensuring your success. If you’re moving from another country and need a visa, start the visa application process at least 3 months in advance of the start of the onsite program.
For our Full Stack Web Development program, we do not require coding experience, but we do like to see that you have a genuine interest and motivation to learn how to program. Our Data Science program requires a familiarity with mathematical concepts.
It doesn’t matter if you have a million ideas in your head, we want to hear your motivations for learning. You should be able to demonstrate your desire to become a web developer or data scientist. Have you tried your hand at any online classes? Read any books? Dabbled with code on your own? Let us know!
You can apply as far in advance as you would like. We recommend that you submit your application at least 45 days in advance of your desired start date, so that you have sufficient time to work on our pre-work and pass our assessment.
Once you submit your application via our website, you will attend a 30-minute chat with a member of the Spiced admissions team. The purpose of the chat is to get to know you, your background, your goals, and give you a chance to ask us questions.
Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee anyone acceptance - but a lot of motivation and willingness to learn are key.
If you decide to leave within the first week of the on-site program, you will be refunded the entire tuition amount minus the EUR 800,- registration fee. If you decide to leave after the first week, you’ll receive a tiered refund. You will not receive any refund on or after week 4.
Our Full Stack Web Development tuition is 7800€ and our Data Science tuition is 9800€
The entire tuition amount is due 14 days prior to starting the on-site program. Installment plans or financing options are available -- Get in touch to learn more.

Both our programs require that you complete a prep course and assessment on your own before the course starts. This ensures that you and your classmates are on the same footing when you start the onsite course. To learn more detail about the prep course for your chosen program, head on over to the Programs page.
You are welcome to email us while you’re going through the pre-work for any quick questions.
Once you’ve graduated, the fun begins! Graduates can come into Spiced for 6 weeks after graduation to continue their work, prepare for interviews, and get help with their code. At the same time, they’ll begin their job search in earnest.
There is no one answer to this -- it depends on many factors such as your criteria for the job you want, how well you do on the interviews, whether or not you find a team that you like, and so on.
Our graduates typically end up across many different industries, roles, and cities. One popular role is Junior Full Stack Engineer or Junior Data Analyst at a startup in Berlin, Germany.
The answer to this depends on a variety of factors such as the industry you’ll work in, your background and experiences, the city you end up, and other factors.
As a graduate, you get to be a valued member of our Spiced global community. You’ll get invited to our events, be notified of partner events, and may even be invited to do a guest lecture for our students!
We’d love to meet you in person and show you around our offices! Get in touch by sending an email to info@spiced-academy.com
